McIvor Estate has taken out a gold medal in the prestigious 2011 Macquarie Group Sydney Royal Wine Show, announced last night.

The winning wine, the McIvor Estate Shiraz 2008 is made from the fruits of Gary and Cynthia Harbor's 5.5 hectare vineyard located in Tooborac in the coveted southern end of the Heathcote wine region in Victoria.
There were five golds awarded in the Shiraz Class 36, and in this line-up quiet achiever McIvor Estate sits amongst some of the big guns of the Aussie wine industry including Wynns, Evans & Tate, Domaine Chandon and Yarra Burn. A great feat!
McIvor Estate's shiraz has a history of accolades, including the 2007 Royal Melbourne Wine Show 'Premier's Gold Trophy for Victorian Wine' handed over by The Hon John Brumby himself for the 2005 vintage shiraz, an award second only to the sought-after Jimmy Watson Trophy.
