Brought to you by the Heathcote Winegrowers Association, the Longest Lunch showcases the best of food and wine from and around the Heathcote Wine Region.

Little over an hour from Melbourne in the southern part of the Heathcote Wine region in Central Victoria, The Redesdale is a wonderful proponent of slow food. Your hosts, Redesdale's owner/operators Suzanne and Peter Williams, also operate Redesdale Estate producing fine award-winning Heathcote wines.|

The Redesdale's Chef Phil Gaby has 16 year's experience in fine food with a background in French, Spanish, Creole & Italian cuisines. Prior to joining The Redesdale, Phil had a 2 year stint at the Royal Mail Hotel on Spencer where he spent 2 years specialising in game.

Now at The Redesdale, Phil's focus is contemporary European cuisine, featuring local game. His menus are strongly focussed around local, regional and seasonal produce and see Phil spending as much time in the hotel's garden as he does in the kitchen.

Phil is developing an exciting 3 course menu for the Heathcote Lunch (available shortly on-line) designed to showcase local produce and providing a firm foundation for an impressive array of Heathcote wines.

Rather than match specific wines to dishes the Heathcote Long Lunch format allows you to enjoy from any of the 20+ wines available at any point in the meal and, served to you by the winemaker.

Naturally there will be a large range of Heathcote's signature variety Shiraz but there'll also be other several other red varieties, a surprising array of delicious whites and some stunning sparkling shirazes.
