Mick Cann is one of Heathcote's top winemakers but doesn't get a lot of publicity due to the fact that he makes minuscule quantities. 2008 was no exception with yields restricted to an extremely low 1 tonne per acre due to the on-going drought resulting in very, resulting in very concentrated, high quality fruit. Maturation took place in a combination of French, Russian and American oak hogsheads.

Dense super saturated opaque black colour with deep black dark red hue showing excellent glass cling. Ripe plum, liquorice all-sorts, ripe blackberry and vanillin dark chocolate aromas leap out of the glass delivering a nose of great intensity. The palate is a Shiraz concentrate possessing enormous weight and super rich flavours of liquorice all-sorts, black plum, ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and vanilla with some black pepper on the finish. Opulently textured with velvet smooth tannins and long after-taste of dark plum, blackberry, liquorice, vanilla and black pepper.
Liquid dynamite!
Drink over the next 3 – 4 years.
