Jeremy Honisett at the Seddon Wine Store has scored a good deal on one of Victoria's great unsung shirazes, Kennedy Heathcote Shiraz.

He is now selling the 2006 vintage for$22 a bottle (normally $28). The Kennedy family are successful farmers who turned to grape growing and have been growers for some of our most successful wine producers. Their fruit is quite exceptional. The 2006 shiraz has all the regional hallmarks: deep, intense colour, dark fruits, commanding tannin structure. Keep an eye out for the Kennedys' own little signature, in the form of a soft eucalyptus scent.
