The Sanguine Estate vineyard was established by the Hunter family and is located on the famous 510 million year old Cambrian Earth belt in central Heathcote, Victoria.

Sanguine Estate is owned by Linda and Tony Hunter, managed by their daughter Jodi Marsh and the winemaker is their son, Mark Hunter (with Ben Riggs as consultant winemaker since 2005 vintage).
"Unbeknownst to us when we established the vineyard over a decade ago, our Great Great Grandfather, Pietro D’Orsa had planted a vineyard in a neighbouring region in the late 1800’s - so it was in the blood all along!
We stay close to nature by hand picking and pruning our vines, fruit fermented with its own wild yeasts in small open fermenters and wine moved round the cellars by gravity to avoid the use of pumps. Old Pietro would be at home.
We think we have something special, but don’t take our word for it:"
