The Shelmerdine family has a long history managing high quality vineyards in Victoria, from the Nagambie Lakes region to the Yarra Valley and Heathcote. Each of our estate vineyards is managed to produce sustainable, low yields for the highest quality possible. The variety of climates and soil types not only creates a diverse range of wine styles, it requires careful and adaptive viticultural expertise, to bring forth the best from each vine. Hand pruning, hand picking and training all give the vineyard workers intimate knowledge of every slope, and every clone. As is often said, the best fertiliser is the vigneron's footstep.

The Shelmerdine Vineyards range is sourced only from estate-owned vineyards in Heathcote and the Yarra Valley. The variation in climate between the two regions allows us to grow a wide variety of classic varietals where they are most suited, and where they will find their best expression. Our wines are available for you to purchase online, or by downloading the order form to the right and faxing to our cellar door at Our Cellar Door is nestled between the rolling granite hills of Tooborac and our Flats Vineyard. It is the perfect location to be able to enjoy a wine tasting in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. You will be able to enjoy tasting our Heathcote range of Viognier, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. To complete the Shelmerdine experience you also have the opportunity at Cellar Door to taste our Yarra Valley range of wines, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Having our Cellar Door located in our vineyard it is a great opportunity to see the seasonal working of a vineyard first hand from budburst through to harvesting. This can all be done while enjoying a glass of our wine while sitting in our cafe and garden. The Cellar Door is fully air conditioned for our visitors comfort and on those cooler days we also have a Granite fire place ... the perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of Heathcote Shiraz.
