Some of Australia’s finest wine is produced in Heathcote and central Victoria –wine acclaimed around the world that has seen Wine Australia proclaim Heathcote as the new jewel in the crown for Victoria.
The premium, rich and full-bodied shiraz and exciting Mediterranean varieties are the showcase of the Heathcote wine region.
And this year’s 17th annual Heathcote Wine and Food Festival on 6 and 7 October will be a celebration of the growing success of passionate local winemakers.
More than 40 wineries will have their best and newest drops for tasting and sale at the Heathcote Showgrounds as thousands from across Victoria descend on the town to savour the region’s renowned wine.
Regional food producers will join the party with olives, jams and preserves, cakes and cheese that all match beautifully with a great Heathcote wine.
There will be fantastic music from another jewel in the region’s vibrant crown with bands from the Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival entertaining crowds each day along with children’s entertainment.
Eager and enthusiast wine lovers can also experience special tasting seminars exploring the depth, variety and maturity of the Heathcote region that stretches from south of Heathcote to Lake Corop.
A food court area will provide a diverse contemporary range of delights to enjoy between visiting the wineries and chatting with the winemakers.
