Heathcote’s famous shiraz wines woo drinkers around the world with their renowned full-body flavor character … now they’re vying for favor from Battle of the Vines co-host Frank Moylan and a spot in the hit SBS Food Network program.
Frank and the crew from Battle of the Vines will film the TV program’s first-ever regional battle at this year’s Heathcote Wine and Food Festival on 6 and 7 October.
Heathcote has picked up the first “regional wildcard” for the 2019 series of Battle of the Vines with spots for 64 of the region’s best shiraz wines to be blind-tasted by Moylan and other judges who will finally select that one special Heathcote bottle to appear on the show that pits state against state to find out who makes the best wine.
The Heathcote festival brings together every-day wine-lovers from across Australia every year to the picturesque showgrounds overlooked by spectacular Mount Ida for fun and celebration of the wine region.
It’s the same a fun-loving atmosphere created by Battle of the Vines, a wine series like no other, that will build throughout filming for the program at this year’s 17th annual festival.
Heathcote’s spot on Battle of the Vines will take the wine region dubbed the new jewel in the crown for Victorian wines to new national and international audiences.
More than 40 wineries along with regional food producers, blues and roots music and now Battle of the Vines makes the Heathcote Wine and Food Festival your destination for celebration and fun on the first weekend of October.
Battle of the Vines at Heathcote Wine and Food Festival is a partnership between Heathcote Winegrowers’ Association and Creative Content Media (CCM), producers of the TV program.
