Wren Estate is based in Mt. Camel, which lies 10 minutes north of the town of Heathcote.
The 20 year old vines produce wine of elegance, balance, individual character and show both prettiness and power depending on the block. The philosophy at Wren Estate is small batch winemaking and incorporating the best of Old and New World winemaking techniques, that winemaker Michael Wren has picked up in his more than 20 vintages around the world. The vineyard comprises Shiraz, Merlot, Malbec and Marsanne.
Blessed with a vineyard containing 16 different rootstock/clone combinations of Shiraz, this sets the script for the Wren Estate wines. In order to retain the individual character of each rootstock each block is handpicked, separately fermented and barrel aged even though some of the smaller blocks may only produce 2 barrels of wine.
